T-minus One Day

The day is finally here! Tomorrow, August 21st, I will be leaving foggy San Francisco again. This time to head off to Japan for fall semester at the CCBC in Okinawa. Okinawa is an island off the main island of Japan. Google "Okinawa" and you'll get pictures of beautiful beaches. I love it.
I'll be trying to update more frequently, with photos this time! Be sure to check back often. TTFN... ta ta for now!

Recap of the Summer

I've had such an amazing summer. My old boss graciously gave me my old job back and it was perfect because they needed help transitioning warehouse product. That meant extra muscle power, so I can be fit for Japan! More importantly, this job provided the rest of my tuition for Okinawa.
I also got to be a part of (gasp!) Kidsfest again. Kidsfest is an Arts and Crafts day that my work puts on for the little ones in the community every summer. This year they did a Pirate treasure hunt. For more information about where I work at, check out Flax Art & Design
.
I also got to visit my old worship leader's new church, Calvary Road Christian Fellowship. Still starting off small and new (they've been open a year now with an attendance of about 5 members) but being such a lighthouse to San Francisco. I love Pastor Eric's teaching. Very Calvary Chapel style and keeps the focus on the Word of God. His wife does excellent worship as well! Here's a photo of me with their two kids:

I also spent time with my best friend Jill. We got to catch up, garden with her three kids, bake cookies, draw, and be silly (mostly be silly). Her oldest just went into Kindergarden in August! There he is, helping out his mama in the garden:
My old roommate from Calvary Chapel Bible College came to visit and we had a blast. Went to all the tourist sports in San Francisco and even checked out the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield! She's one of the reasons why I decided to go to the Okinawa campus.

All in all, it was a great summer. What was most rewarding was being able to have a nice long break with friends and family before getting plugged into Bible College again. So excited now to see what the Lord will do next in Okinawa!
